Clara + Ikea = this post
Oh yeah, and Burger’s in there too. Look closely…

We just ran through to get a few frames and some party-ware for a friend while we were in the neighborhood – so it was mostly an “exploratory” trip. Clara definitely did her fair share of exploring.

Stealth Burger! I wish my dogs were small enough to take to Ikea. Mine are both around 30lb – just big enough to cause a bunch of retail havoc anywhere but PetSmart.
Her boots kill me. They look like they’re eating her legs they’re so big and fluffy!
I snuck our chihuahua Jolie (who should TOTALLY be Burger’s girlfriend, BTW) into IKEA via a stealth dog purse, and we got in trouble!
Burger + Jolie would totally be the next Will + Clara! Celeb name? Burglie? Jorger?
Hah!

My kids LoVe IKEA!!! My 6yr old Sadie wanted her 6th Bday there…LOL And she use to talk about wanting to move to IKEA!!! I wish!
The boots! I love them.
I love IKEA, but don’t you think their shopping carts are the hardest carts in the world to control? :)
Oh yes, they go a little wonky sometimes!

When we went about a month ago, the IKEA lady told us that my husband would love the cart and I would hate it. Which was true!
That’s the way all carts are in Europe. It’s nuts!!
Where did you get that pet carrier? Looks perfect for my large cat…
Gosh it was like 5 years ago but I think I got it from ebay?

We live about 30 minutes from an IKEA and have found it to be a great rainy day activity even if my boy refuses to play in the kids drop off area.
so cute!
kinda makes me wish he had a little shearling coat Ikea Monkey style.
My mister and I went to IKEA a few weeks ago, and purchased a replacement bulb for an IKEA lamp we’d gotten at a garage sale. The bulb was not labeled or signed with a price, but then it rang up $2100.99!!! No, that’s not a typo! I was like no no no no no I don’t think that’s right…. the poor cashier helping with self-checkout had to void my whole order and start over, I felt so bad because we had so much as-is and clearance stuff that I hadn’t realized was a pain to do in self-checkout… So, won’t be making THAT mistake again!!
Oh my gosh, that’s crazy!!

The Bergz is seriously in there?! Dpeepe not move or make a peep? So cute!
Haha, he’s a good boy in cognito :)

Awwww, her little furry boots crack me up! She is just too cute. This makes me wanna go to Ikea, bad. We’re in the process of buying a new house and I’m just totally overwhelming myself with paint colors and new decorating ideas.. I just need to take a deep breath and tell myself to take things one step at a time, John & Sherry style! And I won’t wait until every room is perfect to have a housewarming party!! :)
They are FINALLY looking at putting an Ikea in St. Louis….my fingers are so far crossed :)
You’re little girl is the sweetest thing, I wish I could pull off red pants and furry boots!
Clara’s boots kill me. Such big furry boots on a cute little girl!
After the whole Ikea monkey incident at our local IKEA… I’m surprised anyone takes their pets near one. The lure of the pet section must be too much.
OMG… she looks so adorable in her red leggings and boots!!
*singing* Burger and Gee and Clara makes 3! :)
I *love* that Clara is doing some flower-arranging on the coffee table! HA!
If the little sweetie doesn’t end up in front of the camera, perhaps she’ll become a set decorator? :)

What is the name of the chair Clara is sitting on- they look perfect for my screened in patio! Are they plastic or metal?
They’re metal! Didn’t catch the name but I bet they’re on their site :)

They’re the Roxo lounge chairs :)
is she going to get married in those boots one day, or what?! they’re cute as can be, so i totally wouldn’t blame her!
Haha, she picked those out and she’s terribly proud of them! Haha!

I love how y’all have Gee safely buckled in the grocery cart :)
Two of the things that I miss about living in NoVA are: the IKEA 3 miles away (Woodbridge) where I’d stop for the yogurt and the state park where the hub and I got married.
That little apple sure doesn’t fall far from the tree(s) with her Ikea appreciation!
Her hair is starting to get quite long. It will be weird to start seeing pony tails and pig tails and such after all this time. But how fun and adorable!! :)
Our Ikea is about 3 miles from our house which is both wonderful and terribly dangerous! I’ve never seen it as empty as yours looks!
Anyone remember my favorite 30 Rock joke? “The worst place in the world…Ikea on a Saturday?”
Haha, best line ever!

It’s going to be the sadest day in Clara’s life when those boots no longer fit. :(
I know it!
xo

Maybe she can start a new trend when that happens. Peep-toe boots with the fur!
Hahahaha!

I love her red pants paired with the boots (with the furrrr!)
She’s so well dressed and cute!
Clara’s hair is getting so long!! Sherry, you have got to be just dying to bust out the hairbands and ponytail holders!! Almost long enough! :)
Heck yeah!!

Such a cutie pie! It’s been so fun watching her grow up.
So I was looking for some fun coloring pages for my own little one, and I stumbled upon some worm coloring pages! I remember Clara’s love of worms, so thought I’d pass them on just in case she’s still into them. They’re free and downloadable:

So cute! Thanks Marissa!

So this is unrelated to your IKEA trip-although I’m loving Clara’s boots!!-but I was wondering if you’d consider doing a post about how you manage disciplining Clara and your potty training techniques? I have a daughter a couple months younger than Clara and she is very….energetic? That’s a nice way of putting it! Haha :) Just curious if you have any tried and true techniques that you use for disciplining and potty training. Thanks!
Oh yes, we have a potty training post on the agenda next week due to popular demand. And as for discipline, we just try to use redirection and praise her when she’s good (that’s such good listening, you’re such a big girl) – most of the time she loves hearing that so much it hopefully inspires her to live up to that – but of course we have our fair share of meltdowns (she’s a 2-year-old, after all). :)

OMG I need those pink chairs. Are they exterior chairs? I must have them for our new patio!
And I must have a daughter some day – those boots and leggings, just too cute.
I think they are made for outside but I’m not sure! Maybe they’re on their site?
