Clara Conversations

Convo #1
Clara: (looking at a painting of a wine bottle, red wine in a glass, and a baguette at Panera) Look mommy! It’s water and some ketchup and a hot dog!
Convo #2
Clara: (drops a yogurt raisin while in a cart at Target and it rolls out of reach under a display rack) Oh no! Yogurt raisin!
Daddy: That’s ok, you have more. That one’s yucky on the floor under there. (continues rolling cart down the aisle)
Clara: (screaming down the aisle at Target) Come baaaack yogurt raisin!
Convo #3
Clara: (to mommy) I’ll be the mommy and you can be the baby. Here you go sweetie (hands me a wooden strawberry from her play kitchen). Does that feel better? Does that make your tummy better?
Convo #4
Clara: (putting stuffed animal in her shirt) There’s a baby in my belly.
Daddy: Is it a boy or a girl?
Clara: It’s a girl.
Daddy: What’s her name?
Clara: Sally Burger Baby Ben.
Convo #5
Clara: (while petting Burger) Burger, you be nice to me. Because I’m a lady.
Convo #6
Grammy: Where did you get those pretty eyes?
Clara: From my face.

These literally make my day when I read them. I think they should become a weekly thing. ‘Because I’m a lady’ gets me every time! haha. When my little one starts talking more I will definitely be writing these things down, too! Love the idea!
Hahaha, “from my face” literally made me holler… from inside my office… with the door closed. Now I’m scared to come out to see what my coworkers think of me.
Seriously, this made my Friday. :)
I absolutely LOVE the Clara conversation posts!!
“From my face” is so stinkin’ adorable!
Of course those pretty eyes are from her face. HAHAHAHAHA!!! Clara is so funny. :)
Love these post by the way.
Those are Awesome! Love reading the Clara conversations when you post them : ) I can’t wait for you to experience Air Quotes. My daughter has figured out using Air quotes and sometimes what she “air quotes” while she’s talking is HILARIOUS!
Hahahah!

All cute and hilarious, but #5 and 6 really made me laugh.
I love her “I’m a lady” quotes!
Clara is hilarious! I love the “becauae I’m a lady” line. I think I’m going to start incorporating that into my life.
so, I take it you will not be allowing Clara to name the next Petersik???…

#5 kills me . I just laughed out loud in my office. Funny gal.
Clara is seriously hilarious. Thanks for posting these, too cute!!
Lol, I recall you mentioning something similar to #4 when I met you at the DC FLOR signing. I love that Sally seems to be Clara’s go-to name for her toys.
Haha, it totally is! She loves that name!

Clara is awesome- SO funny! When my son was little, he spotted an airplane so far up in the sky I could barely even see it. I said, “How in the world did you see that airplane???”. He said, “My eyes are just GOOD Lookin’ “. : ) Those years are so fun!
Hahaha!

Kids say the funniest things! #6 is the best!! I asked my 4 year old where she came from one night and she smiles and goes “from china!!” the best part was she was so confident in her answer like “please mom you don’t know that” haha
Hahah! So cute!

I cried laughing at this! I’m gonna start saying “from my face” and “because I’m a lady” now. :)
Mine are grown but my oldest is gifted and could talk in sentences at a very early age. I was always a little worried what she would say. I’ll never forget when we were shopping in the kitchen aisle at Walmart and she saw wooden spoons. She said “Mom, look at the spanking spoons!”
awesome!
LOL love it! We get stuff like that around this house as well with a 2yr old and 3yr old. Today (as I’m eating an apple):
Liam: What is that in there?
Me: Those are apple seeds.
Liam: Oh no! They’re scared….you need to save them!
Hahahh!

Haha! So good! Here’s a recent awesome conversation from my two-year-old:
Charlotte was serving a friend and me some pretend eggs:
Me: Charlie, what did you put in these eggs to make them so delicious?
Charlie: Crack.
Me: Crackers?
Charlie: Crack.
(I realised later that she was referring to how she had cracked the eggs into the bowl!)
Haha! The other day I thought Clara was saying “crapping them up” but she was saying “cracking them up” about her eggs. So funny!

While coloring at her desk the other day, my 3 year old suddenly stopped, got a deep in thought look on her face, and said “I think this desk is made of table.”
Hahahah!

Oh, man. These made me smile big time. Clara, you’re a hoot!
The last one made me spray a little tea on my computer screen! Thanks Clara! You are adorable.
LOVE convo #6… priceless! :)
I love reading these Clara Conversations. I actually have a friend named Claire who dubs all her conversations “Clarifications”. I think of that every time you post these. You could totally do the same! That cutie of yours is precious!
So funny! We call her toys everywhere “Claraphernalia”

I got to thinking……..now that the news is out of the bag about your new home, I’m sure there have been plenty of Clara convos about the whole home buying thing, new place/old place, new/old rooms, etc… Can’t wait to hear them, or rather, read them, lol!
She is HILARIOUS about it! Basically she’s just so excited so when we turn onto that street before the house is even in view she’ll scream “WE’RE GOING TO THE NEWWWWW HOUUUUUSSSSSEE!”
