Clara Conversations

Convo #1:
Mommy: Are you tired? It’s time for a nap.
Clara: I can take a nap in my crib. Or at Home Depot!
Convo #2:
Mommy: Oh is that Cinderella?
Clara: Yes, it’s Cinderinda!
Convo #3:
Mommy: We have to be extra nice to Burger because his tummy hurts.
Clara: He gonna go to the doctor. He get a shot and a band-aid and be allllllllll better.
Convo #4:
(sound of mommy opening the bedroom door after sleeping in while getting her butt kicked by a kidney infection)
Clara: Mommy’s awake! Now I can scream!
Convo #5:
Clara (waking up from a nap): Justin Bieber… on the beach…
Daddy: Did you dream about Justin Bieber?
Clara: Yeah, he can’t go on the beach. He’s really really sad.

“Mommy’s awake! Now I can scream!” That’s funny, and obviously she understood that Daddy told her she had to be quiet while Mommy was sleeping. Wonder when that urge to just randomly scream goes away, or does in just get squelched over time? Clara is adorable.
She is too funny! Our son isn’t old enough for sentences yet, but at 14 months its hilarious to see my husband get so offended and when our son points to the weatherman on TV and says ‘Da-Da’!
Haha!

Hilarious! My daughter is 11 months and just says mama, dada, and something that sounds like “Obama” which cracks me up. I think she’s just heard his name so much on tv (she watches the news with me in the morning).
Hahah, that’s so funny!

Justin Bieber… on the beach…
Bahahahahahahahahaha!! That’s amazing!
#5 had me dying! Clara’s got Bieber fever even at her young age. Clara Conversations are my favorite part of YHLife!
She has had Bieber Fever for awhile now, you might wanna get her checked out :)
Hahah!

Maybe your so take her to the doctor Sherry, they can give her a shot and a band-aid to cure her Bieber fever! She is adorable. My 2 and 3 year old girls fill my days with laughter from their funny conversations, best part of my day sometimes.
Uh! You poor girl with a kidney infection. Had that once, and I was the most miserable that I have ever been in my entire life. Worse than 2 childbirths!
Love the Justin Beiber comment!
Oh yeah, it was the worst! So glad to be on the mend!
xo
s
It’s so cute to me that she a)remembers her dreams and b)dreams about the Beiebs!
Kidney infection? Those are the worst! Hope you’re feeling better!
Oh yeah, it was a few weeks back now. So glad to be better!

What!? Justin Bieber? That’s too much! ha ha
Love #4, wish I had written down the cute things my son said when he was young. At that time I thought I’d remember now that he’s 23 I don’t.
Only 2 years old and already dreaming about Justin Bieber…all of your pretty decor will be covered up with boy band posters by the time she hits 13!
It’s true.

My daughter (~3yo at the time) loved Justin Bieber back in his “Baby” singing days. She however was disappointed when after months of obsessing about him, when she found out he was not a Beaver but in fact a human. It’s funny how young the “biebermania” starts at.
Hahahahahah!
xo

HAHAHA! That is amazing, I won’t be able to think of Justin Bieber the same after this!
OHHHHH LORD….watch out she already has Beiber Fever!!!
Sorry to hear about the kidney infection…hope you are feeling better :)
Aw thanks guys! That was a while back so I’m so happy to be feeling much better :)

LMAO!! Too funny that she is dreaming about Justin Bieber being sad because he can’t go to the beach. My conversations with my little guy always go something like this…
JBear: Mom! You know what?!
Me: What?
JBear: Snow means Santa is coming and you know what?!
Me: What?
Jbear: That means I am a good boy and you know what?!
Me: What?
…….
You would think eventually I would learn to stop saying ‘What?’ but nooooo I just keep going and the factoid conversation keeps going and going and going…(I secretly LOVE it!) ;-)
P.S. – Kidney infections SUCK! Hope you are feeling better. :-D
Haha, that’s so cute! And I’m feeling much better. So glad!
xo

GREAT!!!! NOW WE CAN ALL SCREEEEEAAAM!!! ;-)
Sorry – just in one of those moods. :-DDD
Hahahah!

LOL! Poor Justin. I’ve been having weird celebrity dreams all week so I can relate, Clara :)
Did Clara have a conversation with Santa? My 2 year old willingly sat on his lap, but froze on the speaking part. It might have been a good thing, because on the way to see Santa we had the following convo:
Me: What are you going to tell Santa?
Him: Trick or treat!
Hahahahh! She mostly froze and I chatted Santa up. You know, the usual. Where are the reindeer tonight? How’s the weather up in the North Pole? Etc.

How is Burger doing these days? He hasn’t had anymore scary episodes has he?
Glad to hear your kidney infection is better. That’s no fun! :/
I’m embarrassed to admit but I do like Justin’s song “As Long As You Love Me”. I even paid money to have it on my iPod. haha
Oh no, he has been great! He ate something that was bothering his tummy so we thought he might barf (he faked it a few times, haha) but then he was all better and his tail was wagging again. Whew!

Good to hear he’s fine!
I paid for it too! The shame!
thanks for this! I laughed out loud, which I really needed this morning. thanks for sharing :)
OMG! The Justin Bieber one is my FAVORITE! :)
“Mommy’s Awake! Now I can scream!” My kids live this every day… too funny!!! (And glad you’re over that kidney infection! Ouch!)
Uh oh, she’s already dreaming about boys. Those boys at preschool better watch out!
Keep on dreamin Clara, maybe someday you and Beibs can go to the beach together! :)
Naps at Home Depot, proof she is your child. These always brighten my day – thanks for sharing.
Sorry about the kidney infection! No fun!
Your girl is so adorable. I can’t wait to hear the things that my little guy (only six months now) says one day!
Haha! Clara is so funny. You’ve got your hands full with her, I’m sure. Have you tried teaching her any jokes yet. I remember doing that with my friends kids and it was always so hilarious how they “improvised” the punch line.
Oh yes, so far she thinks just laughing after anything makes it a joke. Ex: “Mommy guess what I’m doing?” “What Clara?” “I’m eating! Hahahhahahahaha! It’s a joke” (meanwhile she’s not eating). Hilarious.

She can take her nap at Home Depot! That’s so funny! Love Clara
I love hearing/reading her lines.
I can take a nap in my crib. Or at Home Depot. ~ ~ that one really cracked me up tho!!! :D
Love her imagination! Any little girl who likes Home Depot and Justin Beiber is all right with me. :)
I actually had a dream about Clara and Justin Bieber last night too! I am taking my 34 year old sister (who is a middle school teacher) to the concert in January. In my dream, Clara was with us and because of her we met him. Totally crazy…now, if I could borrown your bean so it could come true that would be totally amazing!
Haha, so funny!

Yay! I have been waiting for a Clara Convo update – I literally LOL when reading these! Girlfriend cracks me up! JBiebs, huh? You two may have your hands full in a couple of years if she’s already boy crazy :)
Hope you’re feeling better!!
Recently heard at my house: “Poop doesn’t have hands, but it holds on to the toilet paper!” Gross, yet profound…
Hahah!

She’s awesome.
Kidney infections are so painful. I’m glad you’re on the mend!
Oh my word. She is so precious!
You MUST do a ‘window shopping’ with Clara at Home Depot for this page. Give her the camera and let her photograph stuff she likes and ask her why. OH, that would make a great post. Maybe a video??? :-) Like Sherry at TarJay.
Hahah!

cuuuuutieeeee pieeee!!!
I mean, I love every part of your blog, but ‘Clara Conversations’ is probably my favorite! She is so funny.
So glad you’re getting better! I love that Clara thinks that she could nap at Home Depot. :) Thanks for the weekend chuckles.
Just love her! She reminds me so much of my little girl. P.S. I just bought your book and had to tell you I LOVE IT!!!! I am devouring it word by word, page by page. You guys are rad. :)
Thanks so much, Amy!

Bahahaha!!! I love how she had a dream about the Biebs on the beach. That girl is so hilarious!
#5 is the best!
It’s Cinderella. The girl’s name was Ella, but because she was tasked with cleaning the cinders and ashes from the hearth she’d be streaked with soot, and therefore teasingly labeled Cinder-Ella, hence, Cinderella. :)
So sorry to hear about the kidney infection. I’ve been through it twice, the second time nearly landed my in the hospital. Bad times. Very glad to hear you are better!
Interesting!

I love these posts. My favorite from my three year old daughter “Mommy next time I go poop in the potty I want a real phone.”
Hahahah!
xo

So cute, I love these! Also, and I’m only pointing this out bc I have never caught a mistake before on your site and think I found 2 today, I think it is spelled “Cinderella” not “Cindarella”
Thanks Keeks! Fixed it :)

This morning in the car: “Do you know where my vacation is? It’s way far away! You have to take an airplane, or a helicopter, or a pirate ship to get there!”
Hahah!
