Two & A Quarter
This week Clara turned 2 years and 3 months old, aka 27 months.

This month’s photo taking adventure started off kinda slow since she was determined not to show her face.

But then things started to pick up.

And by “pick up” we mean she put a zebra on her head. Pure modeling magic if you ask me.

Then we got a bit too much of what we asked for. We started singing a song and suddenly her arms went windmill crazy and we ended up with blurry gems like these.

This one cracked me up because it looks like one of those hand gestures that politicians or business people use to really emphasize a point. Just picture her saying “I. Will. Not. Raise. Taxes.”

Fortunately we managed to snap our winning picture before this started to happen – the fabric fell down.

It’s like this fabric was immune to the painters tape that we always use to hold things up. It would not stick! But at least Clara was willing to help put it back in place.

Such a big girl.

Cute fabric and ADORABLE Clara. She is growing so fast!
SO BIG and adorbs… I love that fabric!
So sweet! I love the middle of the month because it means more Clara pictures! I think she is John’s twin in the zebra-on-head picture. She’s growing up so fast!
Maybe she’s an Italian Politician with “Jazz-Hands” who has an case of stage-fright before each performance.
Thanks for the bright ray of Clara sunshine today :)
She’s so adorable! I love that fabric–might be one of my top 10 favorites yet!
Haha. I’d vote for Clara.
So happy that you are keeping up the photo tradition, as its always one of my favorite posts.
Love love love the fabric this month! Clara is looking so much like a big girl! Total Sherry mini-me! I just found out that I am pregnant with me first child and I am getting so much inspiration for the nursery and for monthly pics. Thanks for all the awesome ideas!!!
Aw, congrats Mandy!

The ““I. Will. Not. Raise. Taxes.” photo is hilarious! Nice fabric backdrop, pattern is awesome!
The “political” one is definitely my fav. She’s looking very grown up these days.
I think she’s doing “The Bernie” in that third shot! :]
Happy weekend, YHL’ers.
Hhahaha!

Aww! Our little girl Harper turned 14 months today! Which also means 14 months clocked in of breastfeeding for us, too!
Clara is such a ham – Love it. And I LOVE that fabric.
You’ve probably said before, but do you have a plan for all these fabric pieces down the line? Do you use them if inspiration strikes or save them?
We save them and then I occasionally do projects with them (I’ve made a quilt, a runner, a birthday banner, and a beanbag with them).

I looove the one with the fabric falling down. Clara looks extra adorable. I’d totally vote for her :)
So cute…. love the last pic.
Cute fabric too… new pillows for Karl? ;)
Haha, ya never know!

She wouldn’t show her face at first ’cause she was busy lookin’ at that awesome fabric. Love it!
If you have uncooperative fabric again someday – tape it up with the green tape and then use sewing pins to pin the fabric to the tape. Works like a charm.
SO SMART!

Gosh, she is growing up so fast!! Too cute!
Trendsetter alert: I think Clara had this haircut before Miley did!
(Diplomatic hand gesture): “I. am. not. a. copycat.”
Hahahaha, so funny.

such a cutie patootie! she’s getting so big!
Her hair is growing so fast!! Sherry, you’re going to have so much fun styling it.
She looks like such a fun girl! And that bold fabric is gorgeous!!
Her politician hand gesture actually looks like the American Sign Language sign for “stop”…maybe she was trying to tell you something?? Haha :) Love the pics!

I thought that link would bring you right to the video for the sign “stop”, but you have to click on the “S” and then scroll down to the word “stop”. Sorry!
So funny!

In some of those pics (esp. the clapping one) she has kind of a Miley Cyrus asymmetrical pixie cut thing going on. In a good way. And I can’t believe I just made that reference either.
Haha, she scopped Miley on the haircut!

I’ve always thought she was a mini-John, but she is all Sherry in these pics! So adorable.
Awww! I love the pic fourth up from the bottom…it’s like Clara is saying:
“Daddy, it’s like this…if we wanna pass the final deck inspection, we’ll have to both turn on the charm… ”
:)
xox
Haha, yes we do! And cross all of our fingers and toes and knock on wood!

I think that one pic looks like she’s about to catch a football :).
Haha, it’s true!

Love the photo of Clara with her arms spread wide – so cute! She -really- is starting to look more like a grown up kid.
I love these monthly pics- she’s clearly America’s Next Top Model! Out of curiosity, now that she’s standing up how much fabric do you need to use for the backdrop? Thanks!
We’ve used two yards of it since she started the standing shots (1 did the trick before that).

I’m not normally political, but I vote for Clara!
So cute! I can tell in this pic that Clara’s hair is getting thicker. Do you have any future plans for the fabric you’re using as backdrop?
I definitely save all the fabrics and try to do projects with them (I already made a birthday banner, a runner, a bean bag, and a quilt!).

what a little monkey! i adore her – and that lovely fabric!
That fabric does some weird things to your eyes if you scroll through these pics with your mouse! My eyes started bugging out on me, so I had to make extra effort to focus on Clara and not the fabric. Thankfully that was easy since she’s such a cutie pie!
Haha, now I’m off to scroll through it fast to see!

Just curious, are you guys in the potty training mode? (well, Clara really but potty training is a family effort!) we just gave up for now on our 23 month old and we’ll try again in a few weeks/months…
She has peed and pooped on the potty randomly (she asks to sit and reads books and it happens and we go crazy and celebrate) but it’s definitely not something we’re pushing since her doc said it’s best to let them decide when they’re really ready. It seems like she can’t control when it happens quite yet and it’s just a coincidence if it happens while she’s sitting there reading, so we’re waiting for her to get more control before we really get into the mode. Maybe after the book tour in the winter/spring when she’s around two and a half…

Sherry, she looks more and more like you with each monthly picture! Such a pretty girl! You all inspired me to do the weekly onesie pics with my little one and I’m trying to come up with some ideas for future kids (not that we’ll be adding to our nest any time soon). This mama can’t afford another 52 yards of fabric :) Although I’m starting to make hair accessories with the left over fabrics so I guess it all works out!
Is Clara a fan of hair wear?
Only for a second, then she pulls it out. Haha. We call it the battle of the bows! Haha. And I know what you mean about thinking about future kiddos. John and I want to do something similar but not exactly the same with a future sibling but we’re not sure what the heck that’ll be! Maybe by the time we’re ready to add on we’ll have figured it out?! Haha.

Love this week’s fabric! Where is it from?
It’s from JoAnn on clearance! Hope it helps!

how tall is Clara? my giant 18 month old looks a lot like her!
She’s a tall gal! I don’t remember in inches, but she’s around 70-80% at her height checks.

they’re probably around the same size then, my daughter is 105% at almost 35 inches
