Quarantined
When you have to put yourself in cabinet painting quarantine (aka the sunroom), it’s always nice to know there’s someone on the outside who’s watching over you.

This is too precious. So weird comment for the day…Earlier this week, I had a dream about you and John, and it was that my hubby(also a Jon) and I had met you and had become good friends, and in my dream I was just going on and on about how crazy it was that we were friends with “the” John and Sherry…. Maybe it’s a sign that we will meet someday on one of your Gaffney trips down to see Katie and we all become besties and live happily ever after. :-)
Haha, it’s a sign. Love it.

Aww, you are such a lucky mommy, and Clara is so fortunate that you guys are able to be so involved!
I am glad to know that I’m not the only one that has had a dream that I met the famous YHL family. LOL I think for me it is more the tie to my home town. That was what originally drew me to the blog, and your sense of style and go-get-’em fearless attitude towards projects (I would never have the courage to dye seat covers in my washer!) and thrifty eye has had me hooked ever since!
SO ADORABLE!
So cute! What a great pic.
Cutest.thing.evah!
SO adorable!
This is adorable!
Adorable! And I love Clara’s outfit — may I ask where you got it?
That was $2 at Old Navy on sale! Love that thing.

Clara will want that second photo forever. Mothers and Daughters = special love.
So cute, and that little bubble dress is adorable!
That’s the cutest little romper ever!
Sherry, I thought you should know that you’re dining room curtains inspired me to add some ikat prints to my wardrobe. So, thanks for the not so obvious fashion advice! ;)
Haha, I love it. Apparently I’ve brought them over into her wardrobe too!

So sweet!
Cutest thing ever! You guys are making me broody…..
I *love* the second photo! Nothing like the shiny happy love between a little girl and her mama.
oh. my. gosh. adorable pictures!!
That is too adorable!! Clara wants to get in on the action! :)
Those pictures are so adorable! And I love Clara’s little romper!
ADORABLE!
Oh how sweet! I love when my dog sits and stares out the window at me while I’m working, it makes me feel so loved…I imagine it’s even a better feeling when it’s your child. :)
That was a great moment to capture! Very lovely. I can’t wait for the office update!
I love this picture. You are beaming at her and it just simply gorgeous to see. John (I’m assuming took the pic) what kind of camera do you guys have? I have an inexpensive point and shoot that I am replacing, it has a long delay that is totally freaking me out. Someday I hope to get a fancy one, but in the meantime, do you have a favorite inexpensive camera?
We have a Canon Powershot as our simple point and shoot and a Nikon D3000 for the decide stuff (which John used for this shot since it was closer).

bless! The only thing missing is Burger standing to stare out at mommy with her! This reminds me of when I paint anything – I shut myself in our sunroom and our two cats sit and watch plaintively at the window ;-)
What an absolutely beautiful set of pics – I love it!
Melt my heart!!! These pics are adorable!
LOVE her little romper!!! Seriously, I need it. Not for me of course.
I haven’t checked your blog in a few days (which is unnatural for me) and I am loving the new set up. It fits y’all so much better than the old layout. I am also loving the life portion. A little sneak peek behind the house scene is fun!
I love this new ‘Life’ section of YHL – cute place to put some sweet family pics, as you know we read the blog for DIY AND cute Clara photos!
Awwww!! How cute! Someone needs to pick that poor, neglected baby up and give her a big ol’ kiss!! haha ;-)
I can already tell ya that the Young House LIFE section has been the one I’m checking first every day since it began!! That’s my new bookmark! Love the new look, LOVE how there’s a place designated for Burger and Clara stuff.. no offense J & S, but they’re my faves! haha
Abby
Haha, we know they’re the stars of this show! John and I are just extras. Haha.

Great candid shot–frame wall worthy. Such a cute age… The bubble years!
This melted my heart. Also, I ADORE this new Young House Life link. Keep them coming; I can’t get enough! xxoo
Dear John and Sherry, frame this! Just adorable. My gals are loving Clara’s wardrobe.
Such good posture and beautiful straight legs, she is lovely. Big brother Burger was not interested in today’s project?
Can’t wait to see your office, we are half in and half out into the renovation of study/library/office.Wish one of us were as handy as you two, we have to depend on hired hands which can be very taxing at times to say nothing of vexing as in today for instance, no one showed up grrrr.
Haha, Burger was sleeping in. That dog can sleep til 1pm under the covers! Lazy boy.

Aw, such a sweet photo! And Clara is getting SO tall!
Can’t wait to see how the cabinets turn out! I was on a similar hunt for my DIY kitchen island. I finally had to settle on base cabinets from Lowe’s. I added bead board to the back of them & 2 table legs on each side. Turned out great! Now I’m onto the kitchen cabinets. I’ve already primed & sanded them. Today they got their first coat of paint. Little worried though because the wood grain (not the color, more like the grooves(?)) still show through some. Hope the 2nd coat makes them look better. Good luck with yours! P.S. – my ORB knobs are looking good!! thanks so much for your blog!!
Love this.
Did Clara chill while you were in there, or did she get upset about not being able to get to you?
Great spin-off of the original blog!
John was with her out in the living room so she was happy. One of us is on Clara duty all day while the other person blogs or DIYs, so it’s good because we can trade off when it comes to work and play time with the bean (and Burger if course, haha).

These photos are so precious!
These photographs are just so sweet and touching. You guys are the sweetest family ever. I just love it.
Clara looks like a ballerina in the making:)
PS I think this header is great… even better than the main one:)
This is SO darn cute. It is making me want a bun in the oven uber bad.
That second one is my favorite!!!
oh my goodness this is making me smile so big this morning!! cute cute cute.
Love these pics! You guys should add these to your wall gallery in the hallway. They’d make a great triptych if you added one of you and Clara with the finished cabinets!
Haha, that would be cute!

so nice to get this shots from the day by the day of the P’s family :)
Clara is becoming such a pretty young lady hehe..
I’ve a 2 yrs old boy here and its fun and nice but at the same time kind of sad when we see we lost our litte baby, isnt it?
Maybe its just me thinking about that very often cause he is my second, I’ve a 5 yrs old girl and she all young lady by now … I dont think about having more kids so that kind of make me blue.. no more babies in the house :P
Kisses!
Hahaha look it’s $herdog in the zoo!
LOVING the young house life blog, great concept guys xx
What a beautiful pic!! Clara looks like she’s in a deep, introspective looking out the window pose. And the next photo of Sherry laughing towards her makes it all light and carefree again. Not sure if someone already mentioned this but you should hang these photos up somewhere on your frame wall!!
OMG this is absolutely so adorable, makes me heart melt <3
And though I love all your DIY info on YHL, I really really do love that you started this new blog Young House Life. I get giddy when I see posts about Clara and Burger, they're sooo adorable!! And now this blog will capture all that and your beautiful life, love it, and I look forward to reading more! :)
This is the cutest thing!
I’d say that second picture if a framer! So precious!
It is so funny what the others have said about having “dreams” they have met you. I read your blog everyday, i LOVE it!! and I always think to myself I would love to see you guys out some place, like snapping pictures in home goods haa But i’m afraid i would freak out and be like oh my god its the people from young house love and follow you around the store like im stalking celebrities asking for your autographs haa So if that ever happens to you, it was probably me!!
Haha, we’re total geeks when we meet readers, so don’t worry about it. I promise we’ll be more awkward than you.

Let me be the thousandth person to say how freaking adorable these pictures are. That bottom one should definitely be framed and on the wall.
